I love the idea of a blog creating a place for us to gather; a place just waiting for us whenever we take a break from our busy day; a place where we feel at ease and welcomed, inspiring us with helpful tips, insights, and morsels of food for thought that we can savor along with our tea (or whatever drink we prefer); a place for friends to gather and have good conversations that honor the beautiful people we are.

After all, we are all beautiful and, if you’re like me, yearn for more beauty and harmony in our life. But for that to happen, something must change and change can be challenging since it shakes up our routines as well as some dust. Even so, change always stimulates the mind. One of my favorite sayings is by Henry Ford, “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.”

Taking that sentiment to heart, the time has come for “The Redefined Home llc” to shake off some dust. In doing so, an idea that had been gathering cobwebs resurfaced – a lifestyle blog with home at its heart. In fact, it was over 10 years ago that a friend who loved my blog idea, too, suggested it be named “The Redefined Life.” I remember thinking how lovely that sounded ….  it’s short, sweet, elegant, and is exactly what we do every day. Here it is 10+ years later, and that name still says it all!

Even though this may sound a bit trite, it’s very true ,,, every day we intentionally choose to change or not to change. The person I am today is all about change. This has not always been the case, which is one reason it has taken me a while to listen to and trust my inner voice to redefine “The Redefined Home llc.” Nevertheless, the past is the past, and today I’m shaking things up and finding the courage to honor the true path of “The Redefined Home”; a path that will find its way to those ready to find inspiration and courage. And what better way to do that than to dust off an old yet insightful idea of “The Redefined Life” blog?

Over these past many years, my life has been evolving. I wasn’t really aware how all those twists and turns were going to come together, but now I’m starting to see the pieces fitting together. It seems the first thing that changed was my thoughts. Once my thoughts started shifting things, my reality started to magically shift and align. The new thoughts started to dissolve and release old imprints and limitations that I had grown to accept and had allowed to clutter my essence. And yes, releasing these old familiar scripts and limiting beliefs made me very uncomfortable, causing me to question and doubt myself; even so, I refused to return to “getting what I’d always got.”

How can we shift our thoughts? There are many ways, and they all interact with each other, but the catalyst in shifting our thoughts is to consciously be aware of any negativity entering them as well as our self-talk (what we say to ourselves). As we will discover in future articles, our thoughts are also influenced by what we choose to surround ourselves with, so be sure to catch those eye-opening articles. In the meantime, removing the old scripts, doubts, and negativity from our thoughts and self-talk gives honor to our inner light and beauty. When we honor our light it creates self-respect, value, purpose, and endless possibilities. Take a moment and envision your new reality; don’t worry about how it will happen, just think about what it is you truly desire and then see yourself living in that world. Do your current thoughts and inner voice believe that reality is possible?

Looking back, I now realize how my old thoughts were shaping my old life, limiting my potential. Once those changed along with my self-talk, the gears that were grinding away at that old life came to a stop and reversed their direction. The shift from thinking about all the unfair struggles in my day to honoring the breathtaking beauty in my day literally flipped the switch of those gears. That one simple change of acknowledging the beauty in each day and feeling heartfelt awe and gratitude about it brought more beauty and possibilities into my life. Furthermore, that simple change completely shifted my life’s trajectory, taking me on a totally new journey. A journey I unknowingly, yet truly, wanted to take. In retrospect, I’m so very grateful for how my life redefined. I absolutely love what has and is still unfolding. And the most beautiful thing about all of this is that anyone can do it!

It’s sort of like winning a lottery every day, except the odds of winning are better, and the reward is 1,440 minutes (the minutes in each day) instead of $1,440. When those minutes are intentionally defined with your thoughts, the rewards escalate. One thin,g though, this means things will change and that can be uncomfortable, triggering doubt. Doubt can stop everything immediately. But, staying focused on the future we desire erases all doubt …   we just need to stop doing what we’ve always done and trust our inner voice. Deciding to change or not to change is the first step. The next step is to consciously notice your thoughts and self-talk. Every time doubt surfaces, stop, cancel the thought, and reshape it; visualize the joy, the beauty, the rewards that will fill your life and everything around you. After all, anything is possible. I know this is easier said than done, but it’ll get easier as you catch those thoughts and cancel them.

Even though keeping things the same seems the safest and most comfortable thing to do, it will bog you down, preventing you from entertaining new ideas and possibilities. Remember, the possibilities are endless. Deciding to change immediately attracts a new energy and puts things in motion. You will sense the shift and feel freer, and this will let your new thoughts soar to new heights.

I know I’ve had many doubts as changes happened in my life, and I still do. I’ve even tried to take control which usually hasn’t work; it just made things much harder. But allowing the Universe to engage the Universal Laws (the Law of Attraction is one of those), allows things to work in ways that were never dreamed and can lead to things beyond all expectations. I’m all about change and am still a work in progress, yet every day teaches me to trust my inner guidance.

And so it is with this blog, the possibilities are endless. Here’s to us for catching this journey and freeing ourselves from old paradigms while creating new friendships! We are all connected and when we respect that bond we create a new frequency that ripples throughout the ether amplifying the Law of Attraction. And what’s more is that by striving to bring more positivity, more beauty, more harmony and balance into our world, the rewards exceed any lottery!
